Information for Faculty and Staff

Since it was founded, Freie Universität Berlin has been cooperating with selected universities around the world. The university actively supports students and scholars who go abroad as part of their studies or research activities, both for shorter and longer periods of time. Furthermore, university staff is supported for exchange stays and education visits abroad.

The university's network of official partner universities has continued to grow. According to rankings by the most important intermediary organizations such as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Fulbright Commission, Freie Universität Berlin is the premier location for visiting researchers.

Support Services for Third-Party-Funding

The Division of International Affairs provides advice and administrative support in preparing applications for DAAD and European Union mobility programs.

Project Funding / Flexible Funds

Project funding is focused on the establishment of cooperative international projects, especially with strategic partner institutions or within the Una Europa network, as well as the additional support for conferences at Freie Universität Berlin which are mainly financed through third-party funds.
