Public Transport

From Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)

Take take S-Bahn line S9 direction Spandau to station Warschauer Str. Change to subway line U3 direction Krumme Lanke to Freie Universität (Thielplatz). Travel time is about 80 min. As the airport lies in C-zone you have to buy a 3-zone (ABC) ticket for the trip. A taxi takes about 45 min. outside rush hours.

From Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Train Station)

Take S-Bahn S5, S7 or S75 going west to Zoologischer Garten. Change to subway line U9 direction Rathaus Steglitz. Get off at Spichernstrasse. Take the subway line U3 direction Krumme Lanke. Get off at Freie Universität (Thielplatz). The trip takes about 35 min. A taxi takes about 20 min. outside rush hours.

By car

On the highway (Bundesautobahn) Potsdam-Berlin take exit Hüttenweg. Follow Hüttenweg to the end (about 3km) crossing two big streets with traffic lights (Königsallee/Onkel-Tom-Str. and Clayallee). At the end of Hüttenweg turn right into Gelfert Straße, and take the second street to the right, Kehler Weg. At the next crossing, turn left (over the U-Bahn bridge) into Brümmer Straße. Take the next street to the right Faradayweg and finally turn left into the first street Hittorfstraße. After about 100 meters Dahlem Research School is on your right on the corner crossing Landoltweg.
