This weekend is for postdocs, scientists and researchers working on emerging technologies and innovations in Biotech or Genomics who are interested in learning how to translate their ideas into ventures as part of a startup team.
The Venture Creation Weekends (VCWs), managed and delivered by the School's Entrepreneurship Centre, provide entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs with an exciting opportunity to develop, test and pitch business ideas in two-and-a-half days. The Venture Creation Weekends offer an inspiring and intense experience where you can focus on a/your business idea, test the validity of that idea, and build a team. It is an opportunity to learn from experienced entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and business angels. The Entrepreneurship Centre is working in partnership with AstraZeneca to offer aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators the chance to explore opportunities, ideas and applications in a range of technologies such as novel biological targets, therapeutics and research technologies, digital health (including artificial intelligence, connected data sets), diagnostics or any transformative healthcare solution.
Develop your entrepreneurial skills and/or kick-start your venture, enjoy the buzz of exploring and creating ideas; and potentially be ready to launch your business together with a talented team.
Participation is by application only and a FREE place, fully subsidised travel and accommodation is exclusively available to postdocs from postdocs-to-innovators (p2i) partner institutions, such as FU Berlin.
Deadline for applications: 19th September 2018.
Your host institution will notify whether you have been successfully selected by after which you will be able to register directly with the organisers of the Venture Creation weekend.
